Weissenborn Type Teardrop Hollow Neck Hawaiian Steel
Oh boy, it's like Christmas around here. More Imperial Weissenborns just showed up. Here's the totally cool Weissenborn Teardrop style lap steel. Man, I always wanted one of these.
The Teardrop has a solid top with laminated sides and back all of Sapele, a species of African mahogany, with rosewood fingerboard, bridge and binding. The inlaid position markers are maple. The nut is real bone and the bridge saddle is solid brass. The body is just over 3" deep and 16" wide. It has a 24 3/4" scale like an early Rickenbacker or original Weissenborn.
The Teardrop sound is a little different from the sound of a standard Weissenborn body shape. It's a bit brighter and kind of livelier.
It has a fully bound top, back and fingerboard. There is a hard shell case available for $79.00.
List price is $559.00.
Guitarcheology price is $469.00
