Ibanez “Lawsuit” L-5 1975
Well, there wasn’t really ever an actual lawsuit, but it makes a good story and it does make the point that Ibanez made some pretty damn good knockoffs back in the 70’s, good enough to get the lawyers involved. Having the Gibson “open book” headstock dates this one from 1975 or before. Many people (like me, for instance) actually prefer the Ibanez versions to the Gibson L-5 they were copying. This one is fairly minty and comes with the original Ibanez case. Those are gold Duncans in there though and not the Ibanez pickups that some people are fond of.
